Royksopp – Melody AM

This album blends elements from The Orb’s finest moments with Vangelisesque soundscapes and Lemon Jelly sound effects to produce a truly thrilling chillout ride from start to finish. There’s no doubting that the tail end of this album is widescreen post-club smoking music but there’s a couple of very talented musicians at the heart of this project that draw you back for repeated listens. In fact the track ‘In Space’ is positively beautiful and the penultimate track, She’s So, is so Blade Runner-like that you can almost see Ridley Scott’s futuristic landscapes whizzing by.
