I’m thinking about the best way to start blogging again. Real posts about real things would definitely be better than auto-posting my delicious links so let’s see what starts occurring.

Something I have to hunt for every time I build a WordPress theme is the method of referencing images and other elements placed within the theme directory I’ve created. The code above is the means of doing this.

What’s with all the faceless cartoon characters I’m seeing in designs lately? The Magic Numbers and Bjorn Again are two examples but there are many more. People too lazy to add features? It would seem not. For Stephen’s latest project, Ultragloss, the client was very clear to specify on no uncertain terms should the characters have faces!

Design trend? I find them scary!

You’ll find that despite the lack of design you’ll be able to find stuff a little easier and when you’re on a post with hundreds of comments like Anglian Windows Sales Tactics p2 you even get the comments split over a number of pages. I shall be doing more cool stuff with similar stealth as windows of opportunity arise. People who used to read this thing ‘back in the day’ will recognise the re-emergence of the blue them.

One thing that has become apparent is that the current homepage design of GuyWeb.co.uk does not make me want to blog. Hiding the posts away behind the homepage really sucks for me. So im going to rethink the thing. Maybe it’s time for another overhaul.

Ambient technologies are increasingly being proposed to develop environments to support the creative process, such as in participatory design. However, participatory design practice in general and these environments in particular tend to be founded not on theory but on practical experience. Whilst there is a great deal of value in practical experience, we propose developing a theory of creativity as a basis for understanding and supporting the social creative process of design. With such a theoretical basis, we can begin to explain, predict and empirically test how ambient technologies may best support creative processes.
